Now you can tag ANY asset ANYWHERE
RFiD or NFC tag (near field communication) technology is well-known, however ACMS has evolved this technology to create the Vision-tag. These tags are now fully integrated into both the Vision software and the Vision Mobile Apps to enable you to read, register, access and update the live data at site level, and can be used for assets, audits and managing asbestos.
M-FOUR, providing sustainable consultancy services in the energy sector champion forward thinking in tackling compliance.. “We have deployed Vision-tags to several sites and we already see the benefit of the system. We can see when inspections are complete with real-time reporting. I think this project is a game-changer when it comes to validating compliance,” comments David Falla MSc IEng MIET CIWFM, Associate Director M-FOUR
How do the Vision–tags work?
Once authorised, you simply hold up a compatible mobile device (most mobile phones are now compatible) close to a Vision-tag located on, say, a door jamb, and the most current, live data pertaining to that room can be instantly accessed.
In the case of asbestos this will allow you instant access to information on any asbestos containing materials (ACM’s) located within the room, including photographs, without having to log-in to the software platform, drill down or search for that particular room or worse.. refer to an out-of-date Site Register. Time-saving and immediate!
Also, the Vision-tag will provide the client a register of anyone who has accessed the room or location whether they’ve logged-onto site or not – a task which often gets overlooked!
In the case of assets the Vision-tags allow the authorised user to access information on Assets within that relevant area and any checks, balances or servicing that may be required will become immediately apparent.
These tags can also be fitted to individual compliance items such as fire doors, fire extinguishers emergency lighting, plant and machinery making the identification of these items instant and their designated location immediately apparent. All too often items go ‘missing’, such as fire extinguishers. By simply scanning the Vision-tag the user can identify exactly where that extinguisher should live and return it. Or, if that extinguisher has been moved on purpose, then the tag can be reprogrammed to reflect that. As far as emergency lighting and fire doors are concerned, it makes the checking and locating of these for auditing purposes remarkably easy. A user does not even have to have any knowledge of the building, just where the tags have been located, for instance on the door jamb of a room or corridor and the Vision Mobile Apps will identify the individual or group of assets in that area and the user can update the auditing information immediately. This also confirms that the auditor has actually visited that location. Also, once identified, the data held within Vision can be edited remotely and uploaded immediately to the main on-line Vision software platform, which in turn means that all and any issues raised on site can be directly notified to managers through the Vision notification system.
Also, all data pertaining to individual assets such as servicing schedules, training videos, manuals, parts itineraries, etc., can be stored in the database against individual or groups of assets. The software can also log when the tag was accessed and by whom, ensuring time efficiency and a good cross-reference for invoicing. Information to the Vision-tag can be updated on each visit or be locked so the information stored in un-editable and therefore tamper-proof.
The tags can also be used in the monitoring and maintaining of water systems, in that, once the Vision-tags are applied, remote temperature checking can be carried out as often as required, making legionella risk assessments much less time consuming and much more efficient.
Room names and numbers often undergo change but because the Vision-tag holds a unique identifier for that room or location, it is totally irrelevant what the room is called or changed to – that tag is unique to that location.
Unlike bar and QR labels that have gone before and which, if painted over, become ineffective, the Vision-tag will still be viable (even if completely painted over) and the user will therefore always have access to the available data. Vision-tags are also future-proof as they are programable, which means the data held on them can be reprogramed thousands of times, allowing for any changes to be implemented quickly and efficiently.
